This fall, Creighton will offer free flu vaccinations to all students, faculty, and staff at the Omaha and Phoenix campuses. As a reminder, the flu vaccine is required for all health sciences students and encouraged for all other students, faculty, and staff. Click here to learn more about immunization requirements.

In Nebraska, individuals under 19 years of age must have the consent form signed by their parent or guardian prior to arrival. If this is not complete, telephone consent will be required on the day of the clinic.

The Shoo the Flu clinic will be hosted at the following times and locations:


Phoenix Campus

All clinic times are held in the Doris S. Norton Ballroom.

Omaha Campus

All clinic locations will be open for walk-in visitors.

Q. Am I required to receive a flu vaccine?
A. The flu vaccine is required for all health sciences students and strongly encouraged for all other students, faculty, and staff.

Q. If I am a health science student, when is the deadline for the receiving flu vaccine?
A. November 1. If you did not get your vaccine at a Creighton Shoo the Flu clinic, all documentation must be uploaded to the BirdHouse by this date.

Q. If I get my flu vaccine at a Shoo the Flu clinic, do I need to upload a form to the BirdHouse?
A. No, Student Health Education and Compliance will do this for you.

Q. Do I have to get my flu vaccine at a Shoo the Flu Clinic?
A. No, but if you receive the vaccine elsewhere, you are responsible for uploading your proof of the vaccine (receipt from the pharmacy or documentation from your doctor’s office with your name and date shot was administered) to the BirdHouse

Q. Are flu vaccines provided at the Shoo the Flu clinics free?
A. Yes, the flu vaccine provided at Shoo the Flu clinics is free to students, faculty, and staff.

Q. I am an employee and am working remotely from home. Can I visit a Shoo the Flu clinic for the purpose of receiving a flu shot?
A. Yes, you may come to any Shoo the Flu clinic to receive a flu vaccine.

Q. What if I have medical contraindication that prevents me from getting a flu shot?
A. You may request a Medical Exemption by utilizing this form: Student Medical Exemption Request Form. Please email your completed form to immunizations [at] creighton [dot] edu for final approval or denial by Student Health Education and Compliance.

Q. What type of flu shot will be offered at the Shoo the Flu Clinics?

Q. Will a high-dose flu vaccine be available at the Shoo the Flu clinics?
A. No, please contact your pharmacy or doctor’s office to obtain a high-dose vaccine.

Q. Is the flu vaccine contraindicated in pregnancy?
