What to bring to class

What's Provided

  • 3-drawer dresser
  • Desk, chair and bookshelf
  • Extra-long twin bed with all lofting materials
  • Extra-long twin mattress
  • High-speed internet connection/wireless
  • Sink with underneath storage
  • Wastebasket and recycle bin

What to bring

  • Alarm clock
  • Backpack/school supplies/school books
  • Bedspread or comforter, blankets
  • Clothes hangers
  • Current prescription medications
  • High efficiency laundry detergent
  • Insurance and pharmacy cards
  • Pillow and pillowcases
  • Prescription refills (including eye care)
  • Social Security card or passport (for employment purposes)
  • Surge protectors
  • Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothbrush, etc.)
  • Towels and washcloths
  • Twin-size extra-long sheets
  • Umbrella/raincoat
  • Winter clothing; boots, jacket, hats, gloves, etc.

What to Discuss with your Roommate

  • Carpet
  • DVD player
  • Futon/couch/chairs
  • Microwave/Refrigerator (No larger than 6 cubic feet)

  • Video game consoles

  • Cleaning supplies
  • Command adhesive hangers
  • Decorative items (pictures/posters)
  • Desk/floor lamps
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Laundry basket
  • Personal computer
  • Pool noodles (a handy guard for underneath your lofted bed)
  • Portable fan
  • Shower caddy/robe/shoes

What not to bring

  • Candles
  • Toaster ovens, electric skillets, electric grills
  • Any appliance with open heating coils 
  • A bed frame or loft 
  • Space heaters
  • Unapproved materials for hanging, including Scotch, duct, electrical, or masking tape; tacks, nails, staples; anything else that might damage walls/ doors/floors

Items subject to disciplinary action

  • Alcohol and illegal drugs
  • Candles/incense 
  • Weapons or ammunition (firearms, knives, ect.)
  • Fireworks/explosives 
  • Pets (other than fish)
